I can’t believe we finally made it to the beach! We’ve been planning this vacation for about 5 months and it’s finally here!

Of course, with eight of us traveling together, we went through a lot to make sure everyone was well-equipped for this trip.

We didn’t want to worry about anything once we arrived. Thanks to prAna, Colby and I both have great-looking, quality-made, sustainable fashions for our trip.

Sustainable Fashion

When we travel, we hope to leave our impression on the destinations we visit, but not necessarily in the form of a large carbon footprint.

Think about it. If we want to continue enjoying all the wonders of the world, we have to protect them, right?

What could be more practical in our everyday life than wearing clothes made from recycled materials? According to prAna,

Recycled polyester commonly comes from post consumer plastic (PET) water and soda bottles, but it can also come from pre-consumer waste.

Recycled polyester is a better alternative because it relies on a recycled material, which means you don’t have to factor in all the toxins and energy used in manufacturing the plastic in the first place.

So less energy, aka Greenhouse Gas emissions and water, are required to manufacturing compared to virgin materials.

The best part? The recycled fashions actually feel pretty amazing when you slip them on!

For example, their Ardor dress, made from recycled polyester lightweight stretch jersey with moisture wicking, is light and flowy.

It’s perfect for casual walks on the beach or a lunch date in the city. Plus, when it comes to travel, the dress is lightweight and easy to pack.

And once you’ve reached your destination and are ready to unpack, it’s wrinkle-free and ready to wear.

In need of a new swimsuit this summer? The Lahari Halter Tankini (also made from recycled materials) has a fully adjustable halter and back-wide ties that provides lift and support.

Personally, tankinis are my favorite. They offer good, modest coverage and are most comfortable for me to walk around the resort pool in.

But, if you prefer other styles, prAna also carries the Lahari in both a bikini top and one piece (both made from recycled materials as well).

prAna Steph Jogger

How about a pair of super comfy, ultra-casual elastic pants? The Steph Jogger have already become my favorite pants for relaxing in.

In fact, I also wore them on the plane. They are loose-fitting, lightweight, and easy to dress either up or down.

You simply can’t go wrong with a pair of versatile pants such as these; especially when traveling!

Oh, and they are a blend of hemp and organic cotton. What does that mean when it comes to fashion?

Once hemp is processed into fabric, it resembles linen in a lot of ways. It’s lightweight and remarkably breathable. It washes well, and because [prAna] blends it with other materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and spandex, it doesn’t wrinkle as much as linen does.

Therefore, you can still feel good knowing you’re wearing sustainable clothing!
