Do you remember playing in role play games as a child? Did they ever involve superheroes? With Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron hitting theaters today, the arise of superhero talk is strong in our home. Even with a house full of girls, they love pretending to be Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor.
Luckily, Hasbro has the perfect toys for pretending to be your favorite superhero. They can actively participate in imaginative play and grow their creative minds. In fact, this type of role playing can be conducive to great skills the kids can continue to use as they grow.
Being a kid can be tough. There may be times when, as a child, you feel small or invisible in a room full of people. Perhaps you are just not brave enough (yet) to raise your hand in class or to shy to make new friends. But, once you put on a superhero mask, you can take on a new persona. A superhero one! Through dramatic play, children are able to “test” new behaviors, distinguish good vs. evil, and build confidence.
Coming up with scenarios in which a superhero is needed takes some creativity. Lots of imagination, in fact. There is a whole story line to develop and children are often very good at this. With a Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Hulk mask and large green Gamma Grip Fists, there is bound to be more than one reason to have to use the “HULK SMASH!”
Okay, how often do we ask the kids to just “do something.” To get moving and play. Whereas some kids need the motivation more than others, think about how much Captain America moves about! He moves with crazy fast speed as he jumps and runs from place to place. With no ability to fly, he has to use his physical strength to move about. Once your child puts on a Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Captain America mask and grabs the Star Launch Shield, they too, will be ready to move with lightning speed.
Head out and let your kids explore their creative side with a little imaginative play with #MisVengadores.
