Family Game Night at Dave and Busters

Disclosure: We were invited to Dave and Buster’s for a media preview night that included free game play and dinner. No other compensation was given. All opinions are 100% my own.

When was your last visit to Dave and Busters? Did you know they have added 8 new games as well as 4 new menu items and drink choices? And to top it all off, Dave and Buster’s is giving guests free play on 5 of the 8 new games through August 25th. Take advantage of their Summer of Games promotion by purchasing or re-charging a PowerCard and receive the free games.

Summer of Games

We recently visited Dave and Buster’s for a family game night and were quite pleased with the changes. After being introduced to each of the 8 new games, the girls barely sat down to order their dinner before they wanted to go play. Some of the new games include well-known mobile games that the girls are pretty familiar with and they were eager to try them on a bigger scale.

Temple Run

The teens were more interested in the 4D, fully immersive thrill games such as Dark Escape 4D. The 3D glasses, shaking, and air blowing in your face made this a favorite for them and Colby. Other than zombies coming out at your from every angle, it was quite interesting to watch your heart rate rise and fall as you played the game. We could totally see who the biggest “scaredy cat” was as we played. Seriously… the teenagers got a great kick out of that feature and played this game a couple of times.

Dark Escape 4D

The girls stuck to games they knew and those that involved playing for fun. For instance, they both enjoyed Fruit Ninja because it was a game they already knew… and could play together. Dizzy Chicken also became a favorite as they tried their best to land the ball into the green target and be rewarded with tickets.

Dizzy Chicken

We played games for over 2 hours, only stopping to east dinner for a little bit. The family game night was a success with all D&B had to offer. The full lineup of new games includes:

  • Temple Run: Race down ancient temple walls and along sheer cliffs. Avoid obstacles, collect coins and and see how far you can run!
  • Blackout: Throw the Googabunga at the darkened sun. Cover 100% of the sun’s surface and win 500 tickets!
  • Dizzy Chicken: Get dizzy with Bay Tek’s Dizzy Chicken! Obnoxiously fun for all ages. Plunge the ball into the spiral of lights to land it on the green target.
  • Milk Jug Toss: Toss the balls into the milk jug or surrounding holes to win tickets. Shoot for the Super Bonus by getting all the balls in the jug.
  • Dream Raiders: A new two-player deluxe game from Sega. Ride a dragon, pilot a UFO, get on horseback or put on your super suits and head for the skies!
  • Harpoon Lagoon: 4 player game for the entire family. Players fire harpoons at the fish swimming by and win tickets. Features a hidden jelly fish bonus!
  • Dark Escape 4D: See and feel the monsters in a new game that’s in a class of its own. Wearing 3D glasses, try to escape from a mad man by shooting your way out.
  • Cut The Rope: The popular mobile app now on a high definition 42″ screen.

But new games are not all that Dave and Buster’s has added to their summer line-up.
