Disney Star Darlings Help Fulfill Wishes

Last week we decided to stop by a house in our neighborhood that was for sale. It ended up being amazing and simply perfect for our family. The one drawback? Someone had put an offer on the house hours before our appointment. The kids were crushed.
Jaci, our 10 year old, had already drawn out plans for her room, as well as her younger sister’s. She knew where every piece of furniture and picture on her wall would go. Having to tell her that the house was sold was crushing for her. Therefore, she and I sat down and found a handful of affirmations to remind her that anything was possible. That, as a family, we will find a house to call ours this year. It is her biggest wish. Her brother and sisters share this wish. Therefore, as their parents, and sharing the same desires, Colby and I have already begun the process to help make her wish come true in 2016.
Fortunately, Jaci had already begun reading the Star Darlings: A Wisher’s Guide to Starland and was inspired to keep dreaming. The designer Shana Muldoon Zappa, and her husband, New York Times bestselling author Ahmet Zappa say the characters were inspired by their daughter. I think Shana Muldoon Zappa’s quote is perfect in explaining them, “Our intention with Star Darlings has always been to empower girls and let them know there is an unstoppable wish energy created by positive thinking, taking action, and believing in yourself.” Positive thinking is exactly how we encouraging Jaci, and our other children, to look at our current home-finding mission. With the help of Sage, Libby, Leona, Vega and Scarlet, Jaci may just have a jump start on how to manifest her wish into fruition!
