It seems that most of us spend the majority of our time looking for MORE time. Or at least trying to make the most out of the minutes that we do have. Especially those with our children. A lot of times it is simply about looking for ways to create moments in the midst of our busy lives.
Whether it’s our own schedules or the kids, it is important to carve out quality time to spend together. It doesn’t have to be a big deal. It simply helps to form a bond and develop a sense of happiness in the family unit. Who doesn’t like a little one-on-one attention every once in a while? Even with our kids’ lessons, extra-curricular activities, outings, and get-togethers, we are still able to create moments with them. It only takes a few minutes and planning. Here are a few ideas:
Schedule Time Together
I know it may sound silly to some, but when you have a busy calendar, you might as well schedule family time. Taking that block of time out of your available time slots means you are free to spend it with the kids. No need to be elaborate.
Grab a few Honey Maid Go Bites, in chocolate and vanilla flavor to please everyone, and throw a blanket on the ground for cloud watching. Go for a walk or a bike ride. In fact, the Honey Maid Go Bites help fuel your on-the-go family with 5 grams of protein and 7 grams of whole grain in every 30 gram serving. Plenty of energy to keep you all going!
Embrace Car Rides
As you drive your children from one appointment to another, embrace those precious moments in the car. Interview each other as you drive. Perhaps you ask questions going and they ask them on the way back home. Turn up the radio and blare out the lyrics to a song you both adore. This one-on-one time can be the best of what you make of it. So make it amazing!
There may be some days where you feel as though you are all passing each other in the hallway. When one is coming another is going. This doesn’t mean those moments have to pass you by. Leave a snack-size bag full of Honey Maid Go Bites in their backpack with a note of encouragement. Record a short video for them and leave it by their equipment. Get creative. Find ways to show how much you love them in their every day tasks. One little note can go a long way.
Being able to create these special moments with your kids will have lasting effects. They will be able to carry those memories into adulthood and then continue them with their own children. Pouring time into your kids is perhaps one of the best things you can ever give a child. When you look back one day, you will truly appreciate the time you found with them.
