We both enjoy a lot of similar hobbies, like several of the same movies, and both really enjoy a good laugh. But, there are some areas where we differ.

Spring Cleaning

It happens in the best of any relationship. Different mindsets are part of who we are. And when it comes to spring cleaning, we definitely have different ideas as to what that means.

I prefer to deep clean the house from top to bottom, whereas Colby thinks we can just give everything a good shake and be done.

In fact, he prefers to focus more on the things outside the house.

Here are my top 5 spring cleaning tips:

Light Fixtures

When I say “top to bottom,” I literally mean starting at the top and working down to the bottom. Therefore, I begin with the ceilings.

Using a cloth and vacuum, I can remove dust from ceiling fans, light fixtures, and air conditioning vents.

Walls & Baseboards

Although not all walls show the dust and dirt, you can bet it’s still there.

Using a sponge or damp cloth, clean the walls in sections and work your way down to the baseboards. A simple swipe of the cloth along each one typically does the trick.

Floors

As you dust, everything will eventually fall to the floor. This is where the O-Cedar’s EasyWring™ Spin Mop & Bucket System comes in handy — and where Colby and I agree on spring cleaning!

It features a hands-free wringer that allows you to easily control the amount of water you’re using.

With one simple press of the foot pedal, you can wring the EasyWring™ Spin Mop & Bucket System and enjoy faster-drying floors by controlling the moisture level.

Additionally, unlike other mop and bucket systems, the Splash Guard helps keep water in the bucket.

Therefore, there is less bending and more cleaning for a more efficient deep cleaning experience with the exclusive spin bucket design.

O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System

Not to mention, the EasyWring™ Spin Mop & Bucket System is good for the environment.

O-Cedar uses a reusable and washable, deep-cleaning microfiber mop head. Not only does it clean those hard-to-reach areas, it also produces less waste.

Clean Upholstery

After a winter’s worth of “play” on the furniture, it should be more than ready for a cleaning of its own. Vacuum the upholstery and scrub any stains.

Always be sure to check the fabric in a small area before proceeding.

Once you’ve checked, work over each area of the furniture piece for a thorough cleaning.

Appliances

Once the floors, walls, ceiling fixtures, and upholstery have been deep cleaned, begin with the kitchen.

Open your refrigerator and wipe down each surface. Throw out any expired food and organize what is left.

Open the microwave, oven, and dishwasher and thoroughly wipe down every surface.

Cleaning doesn’t have to be the chore many make it become. For me, deep cleaning is therapeutic and makes me feel accomplished.

For Colby, he appreciates the look of the home, therefore making him feel proud. For our kids, it’s still a chore. It’s all in your perception.
