Do you have family traditions when it comes to Easter? I remember dyeing Easter eggs back when I was a child. And even “way back then” we still used PAAS® Easter Egg Dyeing Kits. Even the little cut-outs on the back of the PAAS boxes to hold the eggs and the egg dipper are pretty much the same.
I was able to sit down with three of my girls and make family memories as we began dyeing eggs with our PAAS Easter Egg Dyeing Kits. The set up with simple with the help of the PAAS® Color Cups and a bit of Heinz Vinegar. Together they can make some amazingly vibrant colored eggs that the girls will enjoy. We easily dropped a color tablet into the corresponding Color Cup, added the proper amount of Heinz Vinegar (and water for the pink) and then were ready to begin dipping.
The girls began grabbing eggs and decided to use the wax crayon that accompanied the Color Cups package. By writing on the eggs with the wax crayon, the dye would not stain that part of the egg and they could create fun doodles or messages on their eggs. I do believe that (one little) white wax crayon became their favorite accessory all night while decorating.
They also decided to use the PAAS® Deggorating Doodles. This craft pack included stencils and 4 doodle pens. Each girl enjoyed drawing and personalizing their own eggs. Whereas one just wanted to draw, another wanted abstract designs. And my Princess? Well, she wanted to make a bride and groom egg she said. Yes, she is my hopeless romantic.
The best part? They got along. Well even. No arguments. No fights. There were plenty of Color Cups for everyone to use. They easily shared the markers back and forth. I mean, they are sisters after all. It was all about bonding and family time. I loved it.
Heinz Vinegar and PAAS Easter Egg Dyeing Kits have partnered to bring you the Easter Egg Decorator app, available both online via desktop or laptop computer and through the iTunes App Store. Now through March 31, when you decorate and share a virtual Easter egg with family and friends using the free app, Heinz and PAAS will donate $1, up to $25,000, to Make-A-Wish®.
We used this app last year and the kids had so much fun decorating their eggs and sharing them. They were excited to learn the app was available again this year to do it again. Plus, since we know someone who works for Make-A-Wish, and know a handful of recipients, we are always willing to help. Make-A-Wish is an incredible organization and the way they make dreams come true is nothing short of beautiful. Being able to help by using a simple app is the least we could do.
The app is a breeze to use. The kids can even use it easily on their own on the iPad. Princess and I decorated a few eggs online to have a little fun before bed. You simply choose a color, mix the tablet with the Heinz Vinegar, decorate the egg with stickers, chalk, paint, and glitter glue… and then share. You’re done! You just donated $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Love it.
