Not the Sport that Makes the Difference : i9 Sports

When we asked our girls about playing with i9 Sports, we let them choose which sport they would play. They both quickly chose soccer, yet were hesitant to step out on that field their first game.

Having not been involved in team sports before, they were unsure what to expect and how to play the game. It didn’t take long for them to decide that soccer was truly a sport to love… and learn from.

As the weeks have progressed, both girls have found their spot on the team and enjoy playing the game.

The entire team has played well together and they have grown together over the past few weeks. It has been exciting to watch as they learn together on the field.

Reasons Kids Should Play Soccer

Yet, I think some of the most important lessons that i9 Sports has taught our children goes much further beyond the field. The league believes,

At the end of the day, it’s not the sport that makes the difference. It’s the experience you and your child have at the game that makes the difference.” I wholeheartedly agree.

Not only do Colby and I attend each game, but all three of our other children attend, as well as our son-in-law, my parents, and my sister and her family.

Even my brother has made it out to a game. It has truly become a fun family affair and we will be sad to see the season end soon.

Alas, the girls, and perhaps even some of the rest of us, will take a few valuable lessons home with us.

Weekly Sportsmanship Award for courtesy

For instance, the second game of the season, Jaci won the Weekly Sportsmanship Award for “courtesy.”

If you know Jaci, this award really fits her to a T. I laugh because, in the beginning, she was so courteous that she would move out of the way to let the opposing team (or the ball) go past her.

Not anymore though! She is still as nice as she can be, but she has taken on her role as defender quite well.

Both girls have developed a sense of good sportsmanship and carry their team-working skills off the field as well. This is great for the rest of us at home!

Jaden won her sportsmanship award for cooperation. There is no exclusivity within the league and it helps when everyone works together to help the process.

Jaden likes for things to run smoothly, so no surprise that she won this one! Listening to the coach, being a good sport, and playing well with your teammates all make up this value.

Fortunately, it’s also a great one to carry over into her home life with her siblings!

At the end of each game day, the girls are excited about what they learned, how they played, and the fun they had doing it all.

i9 Sports makes all of that easy with its dedication to fun and good ol’ fashioned healthy competition.

i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues, camps, and clinics for boys and girls between the ages of 3-17 through flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, and cheerleading in hundreds of communities each week.
