This past September I had the pleasure of staying at the Loews Hollywood Hotel during the #DisneyMoviesEvent. Positioned in the middle of a great hub of entertainment, there was never a dull moment to be had.
Loews Hollywood Hotel
From the time we arrived and walked in the front door of the Loews Hollywood Hotel, we were treated with great respect and friendly service. Check in was quick and up to our rooms we went. As soon as I check into a hotel room I always go straight for the windows. I want to see the view. For me, there is much to be said about a hotel room based on my view. I was thrilled to look out my window and see the very iconic “Hollywood” sign on the side of the Hollywood Hills. I felt like I was completely enveloped in the whole “Hollywood experience” at that point. I had to take a picture and send it to my husband right away to let him know I had arrived. Oh… I was also told later that the church across the street there was used in the movie “People Like Us.” You know… when he goes following after her and she is going to the AA meetings? Yes. That one!
Next, I am always torn between trying out the bed or taking a look at the bathroom. I decided to check out the bathroom first. Perfectly sized and well-stocked. Plenty of towels and toiletries for my stay. The water pressure was perfect and the bathtub made for a great place to relax after a long day on the job.
A quick look at the spacious closet, ironing board, and in-room safe, and I was off to check out the bed. After hours of flying, I was ready to just lay down and relax a bit. Oh, the bed did not disappoint. Extremely plush and covered in puffy pillows, this bed would become my haven each night as it came time to rest. The docking station beside the bed perfectly held my iPhone and only added to the comforts of home.
The workstation came in handy as I sat down to blog each night. The wireless internet helped me be as productive as our schedule allowed… while the mini bar kept my midnight snacking at bay. Not to mention, the coffee maker was my best friend each night as I sat down to rest my feet.
But these were just the luxury accommodations… within the room. First, I was able to order some incredibly delicious breakfast dishes each morning via room service. Ummm… the yogurt parfait was the best I ever had and I became addicted to the Nutella French Toast. Yes! Nutella French Toast. Oh, and I simply had to have a cup of hot chocolate each morning. I could not help myself. It just tasted refreshingly smoother and better in my room at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
We even made our way down to the modern, comfortable restaurant, Preston’s, on our last night there. Ok, I never eat steak but I decided to give the Butter-Basted Filet Mignon with Herb-Roasted Miniature Potatoes per my husband’s suggestion via text. Wow! I actually ate a good bit of the steak and was impressed by how tender and juicy it was. I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to go with the beef.
Finally, I made my way over to the Hollywood & Highland Center for a little souvenir shopping before heading home the next day. I had to stop by the “Oscar stairs” once more and just relished in the atmosphere of the place. The El Capitan were we had attended the Frankenweenie premiere was within walking distance, as well as the Hard Rock Cafe and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum along the Hollywood Walk of Fame where we spent our first evening in town.
Overall, there was luxury abound our entire stay. The staff, the stay, the experience… it was all an incredible memory I will never forget.
