Staying Healthy Indulging in International Delight
I, like several others this time of year, am hoping to improve and change a few things in my life. Getting and staying healthy is at the top of my list. I have kids to keep up with and that is of the utmost importance to me. One of my biggest obsessions is coffee. Therefore, being able to drink my evening coffee and stay fit is essential.
Fortunately, I found a way to enjoy the great taste of coffee and yet still reduce calories. International Delight has introduced a new, low-sugar coffee. Their new line of Light Iced Coffee is both “Sweet and Creamy.” And with four different flavors to choose from I can mix-and-match or try a new flavor often. I tried both the Vanilla and Mocha and they are both refreshingly delicious. I am hoping that Caramel Macchiato will be out as a Light flavor soon as well. It is my favorite in International Delight Creamers so I am sure I will enjoy the Light Iced Coffee blend as well.
I drink coffee every night as I work. I am not a morning coffee drinker, but rather a nighttime one. It does not keep me awake like most people. In fact, coffee seems to have a great calming effect on me. I can focus and simply write as everyone sleeps and the house is quiet. Plus, buying coffee to keep in the fridge means no daily coffee shop runs and more savings in the bank.
Over the holiday, my husband and I have found solace in pouring a cup of coffee and sitting by the Christmas tree. The glow of the lights and casual atmosphere are perfect for evening chats about the kids, work, life in general. It has been such a fun way to end the long busy days of the holiday season. I almost do not want to take the tree down because watching the glow of the lights has been so soothing.
Guess I will have to get back into the groove of coffee at my desk each night. I will slowly need to do away with the midnight snack though I would presume. Although I promise I do not have them often at all… the pan dulce is a nice treat my husband picks up for me from time to time. It is the perfect taste of something sweet paired with the creamy taste of coffee. This was my Christmas Eve indulgence.
With the beginning of several other goals, I will be back to just coffee as I work. Knowing that the International Delight Light Iced Coffee has 1/3 fewer calories with only 100 calories per serving… it should be a good start to my wellness journey. And without having to completely cut out my coffee. So, at least I am starting somewhere!
International Delight Light Iced Coffee will be available at Walmart beginning on January 21st.
