Do You Feel the Pressure to be Green #YouDontHavetoBe

pressure to be green

One of the growing trends of our population is to be “green” or eco-friendly. Now, I believe in saving the planet and leaving behind a healthy planet for my children and future generations, but I may not be as green as some. What do you think?

Pressure to be Green

Do You Feel the Pressure to be Green? With new environmental friendly products and companies popping up everyday, I find it difficult to keep up sometimes. My oldest daughter is almost 18 years old. Way back then I never knew a thing about cloth diapers. And, as I began having more children I still did not hear about cloth diapers until maybe baby #4. By that time I was set in my ways and content with what I had been using for the last 10 or so years. Again, I get it… I just wish the pressure wasn’t on.
pressure to be green
I mean, it’s not that I am against it. In fact, I do try hard to learn more about eco-friendly products and teach my children as well. We recycle and use earth-friendly services whenever we can. So, we are making the effort.

I find it interesting that more women find they are pressured into being “environmentally conscious” than they are to be thin. It seems that being green has become a status symbol and everyone believes their way is best. But why does it have to be all or nothing? Do people not get an “E for effort” in this area?
Green Works
Practicality. Yep. I think that perfectly explains our situation. I am practical in many things. Gift giving. Parenting. Finances. I believe in analyzing everything and then being practical in the execution of it all. In relation to environmentally friendly practices, I most definitely use them when they are practical to my family’s lifestyle and fit into our routines. And, for the record, we are doing much better about finding ways to fit them in.

You Don’t Have to Be

I love that you don’t have to be stressed out to be green. Whew! I have enough stress over other areas of my life… this should not be one. Do I worry about the resources available to my children one day? Of course. But, I also know that just as organic foods often cost a bit more, so do eco-friendly products. Making these products more affordable to budget-conscious consumers might help in that area. But, some of the changes noted above… that don’t cost us any extra… we already do and have for a while.

Green Works

Here is where Green Works steps in to help:

You don’t have to compromise on clean to be green. The Green Works brand provides naturally-derived products with extraordinary cleaning power that are fairly priced and available where regular people shop.

Green Works believes that there is a “green for everyone” but there should be some balance. In fact, they have even found a way to laugh at how ridiculous green has become through their new “You Don’t Have to be Ridiculous to be Green” campaign. One outlet they will be using to remind others of environmental efforts is The Green Housewives video features. These humorous videos remind us all that it is “time for green… without the attitude.Do you agree?

the cost for organic and homemade goods are more expensive than other stuff I can get free or almost free with coupons-so I kind of combine things, and buy natural, organic, local stuff with my money I have saved buying other non organic items… so I’m half green lol…
