Simple Cooking with Kids using Country Crock

With kids at home at almost every part of the day, Colby and I need simple, quick recipes… as well as ways to incorporate the kids’ help in the kitchen. Easy dishes and simplicity seem to be our best bet when getting the kids involved.

Cooking with Kids

Keeping things manageable when cooking with kids is essential. I want to pick a dish that they are actually interested in cooking… and that does not require a lot of extra work. I mean, my girls are 7 and 9 are they are still learning their way around the kitchen. Although, they are getting pretty good. My 9 year can even cook entire meals while we simply supervise from afar.

But, we also hope to teach them to make smart choices in their meal preparations. Eating healthy is taught and we try to instill that in their eating habits. That is one reason we choose Country Crock®. Making good habits taste delicious does not need to be difficult. Country Crock spread, along with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!®, actually has 70% less saturated fat than butter… plus it contains 30% fewer calories. Baked goods and homemade meals are no farther than a visit to your local Walmart to pick up one of the soft spreads.

The girls and I recently gathered in the kitchen to try a new recipe. Using Country Crock spread, pepperoni slices, mozarella cheese, and biscuits, we threw together some great tasting Pepperoni Monkey Bread. It was a pretty effortless recipe that turned out fantastic. The girls were both enthusiastic and ready to help which made the entire process easier. After prepping the ingredients, both girls joined in to help mold the pizza bites and serve their brother their new creation.

In fact, take a look at just how easy the cooking process turned out (my 9 year old did it all by herself):

What is your favorite recipe for cooking with kids?

Cooking your favorite recipes using Unilever buttery spreads is a deliciously smart move. With 0g trans fats per serving, less saturated fat and fewer calories than butter, cholesterol-free spreads are a better option.
