2017 Kia Sportage Offers Elevated Driving Experience

Just as our admiration for people often begins with the outside appearance, we typically find it’s what’s on the inside that really draws us in. With cars, this can also be true. The 2017 Kia Sportage pairs smooth curves with sharp creases to create a new aggressive, yet sophisticated, design. Plus, inside, you will discover a new driver-oriented cockpit and much more.

First, to properly introduce you to the exterior of the 2017 Sportage, let’s take a quick (mental) walk-around with Kia:

Although every body panel is new, the “face” of the new Sportage features the most significant change over the outgoing model. Kia’s hallmark “tiger-nose” grille resides vertically in the front fascia while the headlights are positioned higher, sweeping back along the outer edges of the sharply detailed hood. A lower, wider front clip – enlarged to provide greater engine cooling – adds visual volume to the lower half of the Sportage’s face, resulting in more aggressive countenance despite the same 73-inch overall width as its predecessor. The wheelbase has been stretched 1.2 inches (now 105.1 inches), while overall length has increased 1.6 inches to 176.4 inches.

Now that we have a general overview of the newly designed, more sophisticated look of the exterior, let’s open the doors and climb inside. For example, the increased exterior dimensions have opened up the interior to allow for more space and comfort inside. Headroom and legroom has increased for all passengers, even giving those in the second row a more comfortable seating position. Plus, there are more comfort options that include three-level heated and ventilated front seats, 10-way power control with lumbar support for the driver’s seat, and eight-way power control for the passenger seat.

Additionally, a Smart Power Liftgate™, which automatically opens when the key fob is within three feet of the vehicle, is also available for the 2017 Sportage. Once opened, it too reveals more cargo space with the innovative dual-level cargo floor and a widened luggage area. The lift-over height has even been lowered by simply moving the license plate to the tailgate. This means easier loading and unloading for you! Oh, and the exterior structural changes have also made the 2017 Sportage more aerodynamic!

On to the “stuff on the inside” that draws us in! The all-new Sportage features a number of new and advanced on-board technologies to elevate the driving experience and keep drivers connected.
