Pampers Swaddlers want to know, how you celebrate your child’s “firsts“? Those milestones that happen as our children grow and spread their wings right in front of our eyes. Sometimes it seems like it was so very long ago, and other times it seems like it was just yesterday they were still in diapers.

Child’s Firsts

Of course, for our oldest daughter, it was forever ago through my parenting eyes. Yet, those memories are still so fresh even though she is already 18 and in college. But, for our 4 year old, we are still celebrating her firsts. Her speech disorder keeps her language development back a bit, so we still get excited over her first words as they come. Complete sentences are our greatest victory with her. The sweet sound of a word pronounced from beginning to end is even more reason to celebrate.

With our middle daughter we found that she found no greater joy than when we clapped for her after each trip to the potty. Our older children still remember every celebration we had for her during potty training. There was always so much clapping going on. Now, it is a fond memory, but one that we look back on and smile at, as well as cherish. Those little celebratory moments make up an amazing childhood of firsts. I adore those firsts and often miss them. Our lives may be transitioning into a different set of firsts… but I do have friends and family with the most adorable babies I get to live vicariously through for now.

I haven’t had any firsts to celebrate yet. I can’t wait until I do. I plan on taking pictures, video, and writing things down.
