Nominate an Aspiring Youth

Do you know a youth (or are you one yourself) that deserves to be nominated for an apprenticeship experience with a celebrity history maker? Coca-Cola is asking you to nominate an aspiring youth for an incredible life-changing program. Parents, relatives, mentors, friends and the community at large are being asked to nominate up to 5 young people in the Pay It Forward program from Coca-Cola through My Coke Rewards.

Pay It Forward Program

The Pay It Forward program helps deserving young people between the ages of 16-21 achieve their biggest dreams. By either being nominated, or nominating themselves, they have the opportunity to win 1 of 4 exciting apprenticeship experiences.

Four lucky nominees will be rewarded with the unique and exciting opportunity for an apprenticeship experience with one of the country’s most respected celebrity history makers:  business mogul Magic Johnson; chairman and CEO of BET Networks, Debra Lee; or hip hop artist and philanthropist, Common.

Now through March 2nd, nominations will be accepted for the Pay It Forward program. And, with each nomination, you are entered to win $5,000. Not only will you be offering a young person the chance of a lifetime, but you, too, could be a winner!

Who I Would Nominate

I had to stop and think a minute on who I would nominate. And, by that I do not mean it was a tough decision considering the amount of youth I know through the youth groups I have worked with, but which I would pick to write about here. Then, of course, I figured I know none of them better than my own daughter. She is 17 years old and in her second semester of college. She is headstrong and a born leader. Her major? Business.

My daughter dreams of nothing more than to own her own business one day. She has developed several ideas and business plans. I believe she is much like her mother and always trying to think up the next best entrepreneur thing. I am hoping she has better luck than I. But, she also knows what she wants and sets her goals on that dream. Using everything within her power, she then works hard to achieve that dream.

Being homeschooled has allowed her the opportunity to work since she was 13 years old in different church programs. Having her own money and supporting her own needs is important to her. I can see her going far in her business endeavors because of her dedication and passion for reaching the goals she sets. Therefore, her willingness to bring others along and achieve success in all she does is why I would nominate my oldest daughter for the Business apprenticeship experience. Who would you nominate?
