Monsters, Inc is coming back to theaters soon in 3D. You need to go see it as a refresher before Monsters University opens in theaters everywhere on June 21, 2013. I am so excited about this movie! I love Boo in the original movie and am figuring she cannot possibly be in Monsters University, but that just means I will have to find a new character to swoon over. Or perhaps I will fall back on Sulley since he is such a big-hearted guy and easy to like.
Just reading the movie synopsis makes me ready to see this one:
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
I am so curious to find out how their friendship began! Are you? Here are a few production notes to help get you excited too.
- “Monsters, Inc.,” originally released on November 2, 2001, was nominated for four Oscars®: Best Animated Feature Film, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing and Best Original Song – “If I Didn’t Have You,” for which it won.
- “Monsters University” will hit U.S. theaters nearly 12 years after the “Monsters, Inc.” theatrical debut.
- Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprise their roles in the prequel as the wise-cracking Mike Wazowski and lovable Sulley.
- “Monsters University” features a host of new faces and a few returning favorites from “Monsters, Inc.”
I don’t know about you, but I am SO GLAD to see that both Billy Crystal and John Goodman will be back for Monsters University. Ok, any guesses on who else attended college with them? Randall? Celia? Was Roz a professor? Oh, the anticipation!
